MMM TURNS 20
So glad I own this, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it at Metropolis - I swear it's so hard find good shit like this in Australia. It's the publication that was released to celebrate 20 years since the birth of Maison Martin Margiela to the fashion world. The whole book, as you would expect is extremely typical of Margiela - and so it should be! The front cover, as seen in the first image, introduces the house as it would appear had it been published as a dictionary definition printed on a front cover mimicking white canvas. The book has almost everything you'd need to know about MMM - philosophy, store layouts, techniques, all about the different lines, tabi shoes, collection snap shots, invitations, fanatic customers, silhouette development, never before seen photos and a much needed fashion definition of "deconstruction" .
